It’s kick-off time! City of Toronto to raise Toronto FC flag ahead of home opener
The City of Toronto will raise the Toronto FC flag at Toronto City Hall to celebrate the soccer team’s highly-anticipated home opener as the Reds prepare to take the pitch against the Chicago Fire on Saturday, March 15.
Date: Friday, March 14
Time: 12:30 p.m.
Location: Courtesy flagpole, Podium Roof, Toronto City Hall, 100 Queen Street W.
The event will feature remarks by Mayor Olivia Chow and appearances by Toronto FC’s General Manager Jason Hernandez, the Harris hawk which acts as the BMO Field Guardian and three youth participants from the MLSE LaunchPad Soccer Program.
Local soccer fans are invited to wear their Toronto FC gear to show their support. To mark the home opener, the Toronto Sign at Nathan Phillips Square will be illuminated red on Saturday.
