*Recreation Assistant positions* are entry level positions and assist with general recreation activities; enforce Community & Event Center and REC Teen Center rules; engage youth ages 6-11 in various activities; provide direction and discipline when necessary; communicate effectively with supervisors, youth and their families; assist with Before/After Care; assist with Camps; and other tasks as assigned.

*Recreation Leader 1* positions provide supervision of programs and participants with an emphasis on engagement and safety. Works courteously and effectively with participants, citizens, contractors, vendors, developers, supervisor, and other employees, both in person and over the telephone; assists with a wide variety of information pertaining to the City and department. Assists in developing, and follows, specific lesson or program plans. Oversees the facility while program is being conducted.

*Recreation Leader II* positions are the camp leads. This position plans and implements summer camps programs. It supervises other camp staff and provides direction as needed. Speaks with program participants and parents regarding behavior. Ensures that camps follow planned schedules, activities and timelines

The Auburn MTB program offers a variety of classes and programs around bike skills and bike safety.   Auburn MTB is seeking Recreation Program Assistants to serve as ride leaders, coaches and mentors in programs for youth ranging in age from 2-18 years old.   Programs consist of learn-to-ride programs for all ages, mountain bike skills workshops for youth ages 5-18, community bike and safety skills, and community outreach.  Additionally, Auburn MTB seeks to hire a program leader.

Most work is Evenings and Weekends.  Work shifts are generally 2-5 hours.  Days of week and hours change seasonally. Work days can be Sunday-Fridays mostly evening, 5-10 pm.
