City of Toronto launches “Love Local” campaign and joins “Elbows Up, Canada!” in celebration of economic resilience and national unity
Tomorrow, the City of Toronto will continue to take action in support of local businesses facing United States tariffs and help celebrate Canada through two events.
Mayor Olivia Chow will be joined by Councillor Paula Fletcher (Toronto-Danforth), Jennifer Lay, Executive Director, Riverside BIA, local business leaders and community representatives to officially launch “Love Local”, a campaign that encourages Torontonians to shop local and support Canadian-made products and businesses.
Date: Saturday, March 22
Time: 11 a.m.
Location: 775 Queen St. E.
Parking: Public parking is available on a first come, first serve basis at 111 Broadview Ave.
RSVP: Media are asked to RSVP to media@toronto.ca by 6 p.m.
The “Love Local” campaign is among 10 immediate actions in the Mayor’s Economic Action Plan in Response to United States Tariffs aimed at protecting small businesses, strengthening local supply chains and ensuring economic resilience. Elbows Up, Canada!
Later in the afternoon, Mayor Chow will also take part in Elbows Up, Canada!, a family-friendly, non-partisan gathering taking place at Nathan Phillips Square from 2 to 4 p.m. More information about the event can be found at: elbowsup-canada.ca
