City of Toronto to provide update on collective bargaining and potential service impacts

Tomorrow, City Manager Paul Johnson will share some impacts of a potential work stoppage involving members of Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 79, as well as an update on collective bargaining efforts.

Date: Friday, February 28
Time: 12:30 p.m.
Location: Members’ Lounge, City Hall, 100 Queen St. W.
Note: Media access and sign-in will open at 11:30 a.m. at the East Council elevator. Media is asked to arrive no later than 12:20 p.m.
RSVP: Media is required to RSVP to media@toronto.ca by 9 a.m. tomorrow

On Wednesday, February 19, the City received a “No-Board” Report from the Ontario Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training & Skills Development. The “No-Board” Report means that the union will be in a legal strike position and the City in a legal lockout position at 12:01 a.m., or one minute past midnight, on Saturday, March 8.
