Wol-Un b. 1999 (월운, 月雲) is an interdisciplinary artist born in Seattle. Wol-Un’s work has been shown in the Wing Luke Museum and group exhibitions throughout both Seattle and Vancouver. As an artist with formative experiences in South King County, he is extremely grateful that this exhibition, My World in Ink, debuts at the Auburn Vault Gallery.
"Through My World in Ink I share how I see the world through my infatuation with the materiality of ink. My practice is strongly rooted in the cultural traditions of Korean ink painting and calligraphy. By synthesizing these centuries-old techniques with contemporary methods, through the inclusion of new motifs, unconventional compositions, and modern styles of presentation, I aim to facilitate a connection between historical visual languages, narratives, and aesthetics within the modern world."
Come by to meet the artist and get a first look at "My World in Ink." Light snacks and refreshments will be provided!

Zan Fiskum’s angelic voice soars over her soulful and ethereal storytelling. Reminiscent of artists Lana Del Ray and Brandi Carlile, she blends the lines between indie/pop and americana/folk as she writes about childhood trauma, the intricacies of family dynamics, connection to the natural world as well as a fan-favorite: love. Zan’s newest album “Forbidden Art” showcases Zan’s range and beautifully exposes her maturity not only as a songwriter and vocalist but also as an individual as she conveys the stories of her life with resilience and grit. While staying true to her folk/pop songwriting she incorporates sounds of soul, dream pop, world percussion and indie rock into her music. She is sure to captivate both fans and artists for years to come.

"By 5:30 p.m. there were only over 100 people at the event. Then a city representative used a mic and welcomed everyone. There were thanks given to the artists, a sincere land acknowledgement recognizing the connection and history to the land. They acknowledged Auburn City Councilmembers and Commissioners present in the crowd and their contributions to the arts. Then each artist was given the chance to say a few words and talk about their art."
