Get ready for spring! City of Toronto launches spring recreation program listings for all ages
From swimming to dance classes and so much more, the City of Toronto has a wide variety of spring programs that are now available online to help Toronto residents prepare for registration. A complete listing of activities can be found on the City’s Spring Recreation webpage: www.toronto.ca/springrec.
Spring programming begins on Monday, March 31 and runs until the end of June.
Early registration for older adult spring recreation programs for people ages 60 plus will start at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 25.
Registration for all spring recreation programs will start at 7 a.m. on the following dates:
• Tuesday, March 4 - Etobicoke York and Toronto East York
• Wednesday, March 5 - North York and Scarborough
The City is Toronto’s largest provider of recreation programs for people of all ages, skill levels and interests, and will offer approximately 15,200 courses with more than 133,800 spaces this spring. Programs include arts, fitness and wellness, sports and swimming.
The easiest way to register for recreation programs is online. Registration by phone will also be available at 416-396-7378, from 7 a.m. on registration dates. For in-person registration support, community centre locations will be open on the following dates from 7 a.m. to noon:
• Tuesday, March 4
o Driftwood Community Centre, 4401 Jane St.
o Masaryk Cowan Community Centre, 220 Cowan Ave.
o Memorial Pool and Health Club, 44 Montgomery Rd.
o Regent Park Community Centre, 402 Shuter St.
o Wellesley Community Centre, 495 Sherbourne St.
o York Recreation Centre, 115 Black Creek Dr.
• Wednesday, March 5
o Centennial Recreation Centre, 1967 Ellesmere Rd.
o Dennis R. Timbrell Resource Centre, 29 St. Dennis Dr.
o Ethennonnhawahstihnen’ Community Centre, 100 Ethennonnhawahstihnen’ Ln.
o Malvern Community Recreation Centre, 30 Sewells Rd.
Residents who require help preparing for registration can join an in-person or virtual Registration Preparation Session. Dates, times and links are listed at www.toronto.ca/onlinereg. Residents can also speak to staff by calling 416-396-7378, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The call centre will be open for extended hours on registration days Tuesday, March 4 and Wednesday, March 5, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The City’s recreation programs are popular and many have waiting lists. If registrants are unable to attend their program, they are asked to contact their local community centre or call 416-396-7378 to cancel their registration so that a spot can be offered to someone else.
Create a new account and wish list to prepare for registration
Last November, the City launched a new registration and booking system for recreation and cultural activities, fitness or sports memberships and passes, and select facility bookings. Most residents will need to set up an account in the new system, even if they had one in the old system. Family and client numbers are no longer used. Clients will login to the new system using email and password.
Residents are encouraged to explore the new system, create their new account and make a wish list before registration day online by visiting the City’s website: www.toronto.ca/onlinereg .
Toronto is home to more than three million people whose diversity and experiences make this great city Canada’s leading economic engine and one of the world’s most diverse and livable cities. As the fourth largest city in North America, Toronto is a global leader in technology, finance, film, music, culture, innovation and climate action, and consistently places at the top of international rankings due to investments championed by its government, residents and businesses.
