Mail-in Voting applications for the Trustee, Toronto District School Board Ward 11 (Don Valley West) By-election close on February 6

Eligible voters in the upcoming by-election for Trustee, Toronto District School Board (TDSB) Ward 11 are reminded to apply to vote by mail and make updates to the voters’ list by 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 6.

Mail-in Voting
Until 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 6, eligible voters can apply to vote by mail by visiting www.toronto.ca/VoteByMail or calling 416-338-1111 and selecting ‘5’ on the keypad.

Voters’ list additions and updates
Eligible voters can add their name to the voters’ list or update their information by visiting www.toronto.ca/MyVote until 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 6. After this time, eligible voters can add their name when they go to vote in person during:
- Advance voting on Saturday, February 22 and Sunday, February 23, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. or
- Election day on Monday, March 3, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Voter Information Cards
Eligible voters who are on the voters’ list can visit www.toronto.ca/MyVote to review, print or download a digital copy of their Voter Information Cards (VIC) to their mobile device that can be shown at the voting place along with acceptable identification.

Key details about VICs include:
- A VIC provides information about when and where to vote during advance voting or on election day.
- Eligible voters do not need a VIC to vote.
- A VIC is not an acceptable form of identification for voting purposes.

Eligible voters who are on the voters’ list by Thursday, February 6 will be mailed VICs starting on Wednesday, February 12.

Voting proxy
Eligible voters who are unable to vote by mail during advance voting or on election day may appoint another eligible voter to vote on their behalf. This person is known as a voting proxy. A voting proxy must be eligible to vote in a Toronto municipal election and is someone the voter trusts to vote according to their wishes.

To receive a Voting Proxy Appointment Form, email Toronto Elections at VoterRegistration@toronto.ca or visit the Toronto Elections office at Toronto City Hall or the Registry Services office at the North York Civic Centre during regular business hours from Monday to Friday.

A Voting Proxy Appointment form must be signed by both the eligible voter and proxy. Completed proxy appointment forms must be certified by the City Clerk before 4:30 p.m. on Monday, March 3.

Eligible voters are reminded to visit www.toronto.ca/MyVote before they go to vote to ensure their voting place has not changed.
