Ferry Service Alert: Advance Notice of Temporary Vehicle Service Suspension

Good afternoon,

As part of the ongoing shoreside infrastructure improvements at the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal, scheduled construction work will require a temporary suspension of vehicle service aboard the Ongiara.

Vehicle service will be unavailable from Friday, October 2, 2026, through Wednesday, October 14, 2026. Vehicle service is expected to resume on Thursday, October 15, 2026.

Passenger ferry service will continue to operate during this period. There will be no impact to service to Hanlan's Point under the Fall schedule. Passenger service to Ward's Island will also operate as scheduled when the Winter schedule comes into effect on Wednesday, October 14, 2026.
